Oblivious Dream

The authority of your presence has me awash with desire
This confusion within me, burning like fire
I would give anything to see approval in your gaze
What I am searching for is your praise
I would move mountains to hear soft words of recognition
To be captured by you is my only mission
I would offer my soul for a mere embrace
But you are absent, vanished without a trace
I would give you my will, for you to break
I would give you my all to squander, to forsake
You lift me up, you break me down
You take me in and there I drown
Hypnotized by your strength, your power
Where you sit there, in your tower
You look upon me in admiration
All I want to be is your temptation
I shout, but you hear not my screams
I want you closer, you oblivious dream
You hold my strings and control me to fail
I need to break free from this emotional jail
I would be your servant for one night’s submission
Silence would be my only position
Saint in your eyes, sinner in mine
I long for the day I can cross the line
My lies lay scattered upon the floor
He is going to show me the door
I live for the day that all this will end
To look into your eyes and be content
For now you are mine when I close my door
When the lights go out and my mind can soar
I meet you there in our secret place
Where dreams begin and reality fades
But dusk gives way to dawn again
The dream will be just that – the end
Once more where we were before
You calling the shots while I can only adore
